Solution Overview

The AirLink 802.11ah Wi-Fi HaLow camera solution provides a comprehensive approach for long-range, low-power video surveillance. Utilizing AirLink 802.11ah wireless cameras (available in 2.0MP and 5.0MP models) and AirLink 802.11ah APs equipped with Yagi 20dBi or Omni 7dBi antennas, this system is optimized for reliable, low-bandwidth video transmission over extended distances. Designed for large-scale outdoor areas, agriculture, smart cities, and Industrial IoT (IIoT) applications, this solution supports stable, low-power, long-distance connectivity.

  1. Smart Agriculture and Farm Surveillance (up to 1 KM)

    • Use Case: Deploying AirLink 802.11ah cameras for remote farm monitoring is ideal for large fields, orchards, and livestock zones. H.265+ compression and RTMP enable efficient real-time video streaming, supporting tasks like crop growth monitoring.

    • Benefits:

      • Long-range connectivity: Omni 7dBi or Yagi 20dBi antennas ensure stable connections within 1 km or more for high bandwidth needs.

      • Low power: H.265+ reduces data load, allowing operations with minimal bandwidth.

      • Real-time streaming: RTMP (H.264) enables live video, ideal for remote viewing and control.

System Architecture

  1. Camera Unit:

    • The AirLink 802.11ah wireless camera (2.0MP or 5.0MP) provides high-definition imaging with H.265+ compression, ensuring efficient data transfer and video quality even at low bandwidths.

  2. Access Point (AP):

    • Serving as the network hub, the AirLink 802.11ah AP collects data from multiple cameras and transmits it to the backend system.

    • Yagi 20dBi Directional Antenna: Provides focused, long-distance coverage, ideal for large agricultural fields or border security.

    • Omni 7dBi Antenna: Enables broad, multi-directional signal coverage, suitable for monitoring areas like perimeter fences, parking lots, and industrial parks.

  3. Backend Management System:

    • Video data from the cameras is sent via the 802.11ah AP to a video management system (such as an NVR or cloud-based platform), enabling real-time monitoring, video storage, playback, and smart analysis.
